It-Girl's Kendall Jenner and Willow Smith have recently teamed up with Garage Magazine in a collaboration with Snapchat as part of a campaign to drive anti-bullying.
The campaign consists of the two stars, donning many of the famous Snapchat filters, enhancing their model looks alongside phrases such as 'don't throw shade boo!', 'karma comin at ya!' and 'check it b4 you wreck it'.
Now when I initially came across this campaign I thought finally, the social media it-girl's of the moment are using their power for a good cause. But as I looked further into the campaign to try and find a message or a drive behind it, I was lost. The captions against the images seem a half-effort at instructing an audience to not be mean to others, almost sugar-coating how severe bullying can be to young people's lives. I don't know about you but I don't like it. The tone of the campaign seems insincere, with the looks of both of the girls enhanced in an attempt really to just create good PR for them.
I'm not saying that mixing social media and social campaigning is wrong. In fact, I think, if done right it could be very effective. But do we have to use the same models and social media stars again and again to add credibility to a campaign? I hope not.
Hello all! Today I'd like to share with you my love for a very inspirational woman to me, Helen Anderson, the British YouTuber and blogger.
I have been thinking about doing a blog post of this type for a while but have been unsure of how to tackle it. I didn't want to just make it brief and simple, but wanted to go into what makes Helen so inspirational to me without cringing anyone out. Imma try to break it down into some of the main reasons Miss Anderson is so incred, and why you guys should most definitely jump aboard the #ANDERZ train too.
Right, let's start then...
It started off with my sister. Me and my sister have similar personalities, and she recommended me to start watching Helen's videos months ago on YouTube. I poo-pooed her at the time, always waiting a few months to get into things after my sister telling me about them just to sort of seem like I had crept upon them myself. Well, I had wasted my time doing this. When I finally gave in and clicked on one of Helen's video I pretty much instantly was charmed by her humour. Her down-to-earth, 'tell it how it is' attitude reminded me of myself and my own families humour, and I fell in love there and then.
Her edgy style and eye-catching looks all carried off with a sunny disposition and carefree attitude is infectious. She inspires me to get my bum in to gear, jazz up my wardrobe and be daring because why the hell not!
Helen currently has two YouTube channels, a blog and various social media platforms, she's a busy girl but she doesn't brag about it. In fact, she's very real and that is what I admire. Her second channel depicts her daily life and she doesn't hold back in what her opinions, thoughts and feelings are towards daily events, her blog, her career and her own personal life and this is very admirable to me. There isn't any sugar-coating to try and be appealing, and her appeal is through her being so genuine and relate-able.
Down below is her two latest videos from both channels; check them out!

'Getting New Furniture' - ANDERZ on YouTube

So September is the yearly mark for new beginnings for many of us, be it returning to school/uni, a new job, a new career pathway or new starts in our personal life. After having the summer to let our hair down, space out and reflect on the first half of the year, we're back and ready to hit the grindstone.
Here are some words of wisdom for you all from various sources, the words that have really struck a chord with me and those which I feel are most inspirational...
let's slay September!
your energy introduces you before you even speak.
not everyone deserves your friendship, your care or your love, and some don't even deserve the words to explain why.
your voice is important, tell others their's are too.
let things go.
turn soft and lovely anytime you have the chance.
self love isn't selfish, it's important.
leave people softer, brighter and calmer than you found them.
compare yourself only to your previous self.
stop being friends with people you don't really like.
don't depend on anyone.
make your happiness a priority.
don't say maybe if you want to say no.
develop a strong opinion about yourself so that you are not deceived into believing what other people say about you.
Hello dolls! It's September, a very exciting month in the fashion year (lfw is just around the corner yay). This week i'm feeling very autumnal, and i see a running theme of the colour red through the posts i'm making on my Tumblr! A colour of warmth, spice, love, sex and passion, red is definitely the perfect colour for September (yay maybe i'm starting to move away from pink)- what do you say? do you have a favourite colour atm?
